Tunnel Vision Prov. 4:25-27

Updated: May 1, 2020

Proverbs 4:25-27

"25. Let your eyes look straight ahead;

fix your gaze directly before you.

26. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet

and be steadfast in all your ways.

27. Do not turn to the right or the left;

keep your foot from evil."

Today's devotion came at the perfect time this morning. This passage truly spoke about staying focused and being careful of which direction you're headed. As we start this second quarter of the year we may have already veered from the "New Year's Resolution" we set months ago. This reminds us to stay on the path. The purpose God has for you is far greater than your current circumstance. You have to remove distractions and focus on the end goal ahead. The message translation of this passage tells you to "watch your step and the road will stretch out smooth before you." What does this mean? As long as you walk in obedience, be careful of where you're going... the road will smooth out before you. This also told me that while you are walking the road will become "rough" or "bumpy". If you stay the route and don't detour you will leave all evil behind you. If you honor God's promise, He will honor His promise.
